Alaska Joint Electrical Apprenticeship & Training Trust
The IBEW/NECA apprenticeship program was jointly established by the National Electrical Contractors Association (NECA), Alaska chapter and the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW), Local 1547 in 1958. This program has been successful in training electrical workers for the Alaska electrical construction industry for almost 50 years. The IBEW/NECA apprenticeship and training program is a statewide program.
IBEW/NECA Apprenticeship School Facts
The IBEW/NECA program has facilities in two locations in Alaska – Anchorage and Fairbanks. The Anchorage facility consists of a 20,000 square foot building situated on approximately seven acres of land. The Anchorage training school was constructed in 2000. The newly renovated Fairbanks facility is located on Dale Road close to the Fairbanks International Airport and sits on approximately ten acres of land.
