Alaska Millwright Training Center
The Alaska Millwright Training Center recently implemented a new millwright apprenticeship program in 2004. We are part of the Alaska Regional Council of Carpenters. Alaska Millwrights install, erect, and maintain all types of machinery and equipment. Millwrights are the quintessential jacks of all trades and are one part industrial mechanic, one part machinist, and one part welder. The United States Department of Labor, Bureau of Apprenticeship and Training approved a four year, 7000-hour apprenticeship program for millwrights.
Alaska Millwright Training Center Facts
The Alaska Millwrights Training Center is located in a facility in Soldotna, off K-B Dr off Kalifornsky Beach Rd. We bring millwrights here from all parts of the state. We concentrate on continual skill upgrade training for journeymen as well as our registered apprenticeship. The facility includes classrooms, shop space and outside storage. The center employs two instructors during the eight-month training season and employs others for short courses as needed.
