The Painters and Allied Trades LU 1959 first established their training program during the construction boom of 1950’s, when the United States military was expanding Ladd Field and Eielson Air Force Base. This program covers painters, glaziers and floor coverers and is a four year, 6000 hour program of trade related instruction and on the job training.

Painters & Allied Trades School Facts

The Painters Apprenticeship program is housed in a 2000 square foot quonset hut building located off 30th Avenue in Fairbanks, Alaska. The school utilizes five part-time instructors who are skilled journeyman painters, glaziers and floorcoverers. The program also provides yearly upgrade training to dozens of journeymen.

Classes offered in the apprentice program includes courses such as, Hazardous Paints, Confined Space, Fall Protection, 1st Aid/CPR, OSHA 10, Lead Abatement, Wallcoverings, Asbestos Awareness, Painting, Taping, Glazing, Floorcoverings, HazWhopper, Sandblasting, Black Mold Remediation and Special Coatings and Signage.
