------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 262 training program started in 1937, the year the local union was established in Juneau, Alaska. The U.S. Department of Labor registered the program in the early 1970’s. The training school is located in the Lemon Creek commercial district on Anka Street, Juneau, Alaska. The school trains apprentices and journeymen in plumbing, pipefitting, welding, heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration and all aspects of the commercial and residential plumbing trade.

Plumbers & Pipefitters & Southeast Alaska Mechanical Contractors Training School Facts
The Plumbers and Pipefitters Local 262 recently purchased and renovated 6000 square feet of commercial property in the Lemon Creek area of Juneau into a new office and training facility for members working in the plumbing trade in Southeast Alaska. The facility now houses new offices of Plumbers Local 262, as well as training space for the apprenticeship program. The school currently employs one fulltime plumbing instructor and three part-time instructors. The plumbers and pipefitters apprenticeship is a five year, 10,000-hour program.
